INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY
The Institute of Social Psychology was founded in June 2016 and aims to build the discipline of social psychology into an advantageous subject matching to the academic status and social influence of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Our institute is providing for teaching, research and social services relating to psychology and social psychology. The institute recruits Ph. D students majoring in social development and management (Social Psychology) and master students majoring in Sociology (Social Psychology). The first director was Ni Xiaoli.

Now, we have one center and one laboratory. They are:
l Internet Behaviors and Mental Health Research Center
l Behavioral Observation and Emotion Research Laboratory
At present, this institute has 8 faculties, including 2 professors, 4 associate professors and 2 assistant professors. All of them have a PH.D degree. Among them, there are 1 Ph. D supervisor and 6 Master supervisors.
1. Talent Cultivation
Our institute currently has 33 Master degree and doctoral candidates, and 15 of them are PH.D candidates.
Young teachers have various opportunities to go abroad for learning and cooperating with renowned experts. At present, 3 teachers had been studied in the United States and Canada.
2. Scientific Research
Our faculties obtained 8 projects from National Natural Science Foundation, National Social Science Foundation, and Ministry of Education; 6 projects from China Postdoctoral Science Foundation; and more than 30 provincial- and university-level projects. They published 42 papers cited by SCI/SSCI as the first author and/or the corresponding author.
3. International cooperation
We actively carry out the joint training programs with famous universities abroad, and establish platforms for research cooperation and academic exchange. At present, 2 PH.D candidates have been to Hong Kong and the United States as visiting scholar.
